BUZZ: In one of Chicago's most recognizable architectural landmark buildings, the 38-story Pittsfield Center, The Alter Group will redevelop 147,500 rentable sq. ft. for students attending downtown colleges and universities. Built in 1927 and named a landmark in 2002, the Pittsfield, which combines Art Deco and Gothic details, will offer amenities including upscale bath and kitchen finishes. Alter executives say demand for student housing is so great that downtown occupancy approaches 100%.
